DEVELOPING THE TECHNOLOGY
Our R&D programme is developing the marine platform, integration architecture and modular systems required to bring next-generation nuclear technology onto the water. Working with selected technology and industrial partners, we are studying how structural protection, cooling, electrical distribution, operational safety and modular construction can function together as one reliable energy platform.

Drawing on the industrial experience of NXT CAP and its Built to Integrate model, we lead the development of the complete marine platform and its integration architecture. Bringing together naval engineering, specialist partners, production capacity, quality control and logistics to develop a platform designed for modular construction and the safe integration of the selected reactor technology.

NXT NUK is building a consortium that brings together reactor technology providers, marine engineers, shipyards, industrial manufacturers, energy operators, classification societies, regulators and public-sector partners.
As platform developer and prime integrator, we align requirements, define interfaces and coordinate responsibilities around one common platform architecture. Each partner contributes its specialist expertise, while NXT NUK connects those capabilities into a structured development pathway—from research and feasibility to engineering, licensing, construction and delivery.
